Postgraduate Fellowship for Hong Kong PolyU


The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is actively recruiting outstanding students worldwide for nomination to a PhD Fellowship Scheme offered by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). Successful candidates will receive from the PolyU and RGC a generous package of approximately USD114,000, covering tuition, monthly stipend and annual conference travel allowance.

Congratulations Gilman Scholarship Recipients!

Congratulations to Cari Cistola and Alexander Johnson for winning the Fall 2009 cycle of the nationally competitive Gilman International Scholarship! Both students will be spending a semester or year in their respective countries on GT Exchange Programs.

Cari, an Economics and International Affairs major, will be spending her junior year in Moscow, Russia, on the Academy of National Economy Exchange Program. She will be taking classes related to her major, including advanced Russian language coursework. Congratulations!

Alex is a senior in Electrical Engineering and plans to continue his course of study as he spends the Fall 2009 in Cairo, Egypt at the American University of Cairo. He also plans to improve his Arabic language skills.

The Gilman International Scholarship is available for students who are currently receiving a Federal Pell Grant, and who plan to study abroad for a semester or year. Please check out the Gilman website for more details, or contact your Gilman Campus Representative, Rebecca Miller, in the GT Office of International Education.

The GT Campus Deadline for Spring 2010 is Wednesday, September 23, 2009.

GT Lorraine Scholarships & Fellowships

The Bill Sayle Memorial Scholarship offers students interested in studying in the GT Lorraine campus in Metz, France a chance at four, $500 scholarships for the Fall and Spring semesters. This will be an ongoing scholarship program.

There are also ten, $2000 fellowships from ALCOA Incorporated, available for Spring 2010 only. This fellowship is open to minority students and women.

GT President's Choice Scholarship

Thanks to the support of our new GT President, G.P. "Bud" Peterson, the GT President's Choice Scholarship for study abroad will support two students with $2,500 scholarships to study abroad during the 2009-2010 school year!


Congratulations to Sarah Sassler, President's Choice recipient for the Fall term! Sarah is a sophomore Management major, and will spend the semester in Santiago Chile, on the PUC Exchange Program.
